On 29th June 2022, Rev. Dr. Dogara Ishaya Manomi, the CEO of I-VEED had a television interview on PRTVC’s program tagged Platform, anchored by the popular television host, Mr. Yakubu Taddy. Watch to know more about the work of the NGO Initiative for Victims’ Educational and Economic Development (I-VEED), which works mostly in Northern Nigeria to support the education and economic development of mostly child-victims of terrorism and ethno-religious violence by providing 100% education scholarship and psychological support through trauma healing, academic success, and peaceful-coexistence workshops.
I-VEED held a TRAUMA-HEALING, PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE, & ACADEMIC SUCCESS workshop/seminar on 28th May 2022 for its beneficiaries in Adamawa and Borno states (North East Nigeria) at Gombi town, Adamawa state. In a nutshell, it was highly successful. The greatest success of the event was the impact it had and will continue to have on the beneficiaries. Being in a town that had been severally attacked and at a point captured by Boko Haram, being in about 15 kilometers away from communities where Boko Haram terrorists are still actively attacking, listening to the heart-touching stories of the children regarding all they had to go through and some of them still go through as a result of terrorism, and watching some of them and their school teachers shed tears (and some of our team members too) gave us a deeper sense of need and urgency of continuing financial intervention regarding their education, expanding the economic development aspect of our mandate, and complimenting those physical interventions with such psychological support through regular follow ups, counseling, seminars and workshops.
Similar programs are coming up for our beneficiaries in Bauchi, Plateau and Nassarawa states respectively. Keep praying for I-VEED and supporting us in cash and kind. This program and all we do in I-VEED is made possible by the generous support of our donors in Nigeria and abroad.
More details on I-VEED and what we do will be found in our forthcoming Newsletter and on our website: i-veed.org. There is no greater joy than to live a life of service to God and humanity, especially the vulnerable in society, irrespective of their religious, tribal, regional, or political affiliations. As volunteer team members, we are more determined in our resolve to keep transforming Victims to Victors. Some pictures below…
